R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Heart of Texas RSVP of McLennan Community
College received a Community Leadership Award presented by OneStar
Foundation at the 31st annual Governor's Volunteer Awards ceremony
on September 17, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Selected for this prestigious accolade in
recognition of its dedicated efforts in behalf of area residents,
the Heart of Texas RSVP gives invaluable support to more than 75
nonprofit organizations, schools, and nursing homes throughout
Central Texas; in addition, the program supplies free health
screenings to over 5,000 individuals each year through its annual
health fair; and
WHEREAS, This notable organization is helping to strengthen
the local community, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in honoring
the significant contributions it has made to the greater good; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Heart of Texas RSVP of McLennan
Community College on its receipt of a Community Leadership Award
from the OneStar Foundation and extend to all those associated with
the program sincere appreciation for their important work; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
