R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Logan O'Dell and Blaine Marks of the Buna High
School fishing team achieved great distinction by capturing first
place in the Costa Bassmaster High School Central Open, held at
Toledo Bend Reservoir in Many, Louisiana, on March 15, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of team captain Brandon Marks,
the pair of seventh-grade anglers reeled in the maximum five bass,
which collectively weighed in at 17 pounds, 12 ounces, providing a
one-ounce margin of victory over the second-place finishers; and
WHEREAS, The triumph earned the duo a $500 check for their
school and qualified them to compete in the Costa Bassmaster High
School National Championship in Tennessee in July 2015; in
addition, they earned the opportunity to fish with Elite Series
professionals as part of the High School Elite Experience presented
by Costa; and
WHEREAS, These talented young fishermen demonstrated
exceptional skill and determination in pursuit of their goals, and
they are a source of great pride to their classmates and their
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Logan O'Dell and Blaine Marks on
winning the Costa Bassmaster High School Central Open and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. O'Dell and Mr. Marks as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
