H.R. No. 1871
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce was selected as
a finalist for the 2014 Chamber of the Year award by the American
Chamber of Commerce Executives; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the ACCE recognizes chambers for their
work as business leaders in their communities; the application
process is rigorous and more than 40 chambers were considered for
the 2014 award; and
WHEREAS, Organized in 1899, the Greater Waco Chamber serves
as a uniting voice for the business community as it prepares and
markets Waco for the future; composed of approximately 1,600
businesses and nonprofits, the chamber advances a visionary agenda
for economic growth and quality of life within the city; and
WHEREAS, The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce greatly
benefits area residents, and the organization is to be commended
for its commitment to progress and prosperity; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Greater Waco Chamber of
Commerce on its selection as a finalist for the 2014 Chamber of the
Year award presented by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives
and extend to its members and leaders sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the chamber as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
