 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
 a close when LaVeta Duncan Curry of Dallas died on July 10, 2014, at
 the age of 100; and
 WHEREAS, The former LaVeta Duncan was born in Glen Cove on
 November 5, 1913, to Arthur and Mary Duncan and enjoyed the
 companionship of two brothers and two sisters; she exchanged the
 vows of matrimony with Odis Curry and with him became a loving
 parent to three children, Sam, Tom, and Suzanne; through the years,
 Mrs. Duncan knew the joy of welcoming three more generations into
 her family; and
 WHEREAS, This caring individual helped countless people in
 her professional life as a nurse; she was also an artist; and
 WHEREAS, Devoted to her family and her community, LaVeta
 Curry is deeply missed, but the generosity, love, and compassion
 with which she lived her life will forever inspire all those who had
 the good fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of LaVeta Duncan Curry
 and extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: to her
 sons, Sam Curry and his wife, Joyce, and Tom Curry and his wife,
 Susan; to her daughter, Suzanne Jones; to her sister, Freeda
 Kilgore and her husband, Larry; to her sisters-in-law, Margie
 Duncan and Lolette Curry Rowe; to her granddaughters, Melinda
 White, Heather Jones and her husband, Bobby, Amber Morell and her
 husband, Carey, and Christa Greunke and her husband, Garrett; to
 her step-granddaughter, Keri Scholz; to her great-grandchildren,
 Kaylee and Ashlyn White, Laurel and Ella Jones, Peyton, Drake, and
 Ava Morell, and Brityn Greunke; to her step-great-grandchildren,
 Emily Fallon and Michael and Grady Scholz; to her
 great-great-granddaughter, Brylie Pedraza; and to her other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of LaVeta
 Duncan Curry.
