No. 1961 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Louis Dewald of Copperas Cove, who passed away on March 31, 2015, at the age of 68; and WHEREAS, Born in Lampasas on December 27, 1946, to Louis and Iris Dewald, "P. O." Dewald graduated in 1965 from Copperas Cove High School, where he excelled in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf, and he subsequently earned a degree from Texas State University; and WHEREAS, On August 7, 1965, Mr. Dewald exchanged vows of matrimony with his high school sweetheart, the former Sheila Rogers, and the couple went on to share nearly five decades of marriage; over the years, they became the proud parents of three children, Jeff, Dustin, and Jodi, and they eventually welcomed six treasured grandchildren into their family; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dewald had a fulfilling career that spanned more than four decades, over the course of which he worked as a developer, a home and school builder, and a rancher; active in his community, he generously volunteered his time with a number of civic organizations and as a Little League coach, and he was also an ardent supporter of Copperas Cove High athletics; in his leisure time, he enjoyed the company of his loved ones as well as hunting, fishing, team roping, and golfing; and WHEREAS, P. O. Dewald lived a rich and purposeful life, and he will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Louis "P. O." Dewald and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Sheila Dewald; to his children, Jeff Dewald and his wife, Sylvia, Dustin Dewald and his wife, Tiffany, and Jodi Anderson and her husband, Bret; to his sisters, Carole Curtis and her husband, Chuck, and Coleen Timmons and her husband, Rick; to his grandchildren, Davis, Riki-Ann, Drew, and D. J. Dewald and Bryce and Jayce Anderson; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Louis "P. O." Dewald.
