R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elsa Luciano, a junior at University High School,
has excelled in regional competition in the 2015 Visual Arts
Scholastic Event; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association,
VASE is an annual contest that recognizes exemplary student
achievement in the visual arts in 10 categories that range from
painting, photography, and graphic design to sculpture, jewelry,
ceramics, and textiles; Ms. Luciano's scratch art piece titled
Sally received a superior rating from a panel of jurors at the
Region 12 VASE competition, where her work was evaluated on the
basis of originality of concept, technical expertise, and other
criteria; with her success at the competition, she received an
invitation to take part in the 2015 State VASE Event held in Dallas
in April; and
WHEREAS, Receiving valuable guidance from sponsor Tiffany
Silverthorne, this gifted young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
skill and discipline, and she may indeed take great pride in her
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elsa Luciano on her performance in
the 2015 Visual Arts Scholastic Event and extend to her sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Luciano as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
