R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Xavier Lewis of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus
Christi was honored for his exceptional achievements during the
2014-2015 season by being chosen a member of the first team in the
Corpus Christi Caller-Times All-South Texas basketball awards
selections; and
WHEREAS, A junior and three-year letterman for the Tigers,
Mr. Lewis led his team in scoring, rebounding, and field goal
percentage and has helped Carroll High capture two district
championships and make three postseason appearances during his
tenure with the team; he has received well-deserved recognition as
a two-time 28-6A All-District first team selection, and he was
named to the 2015 6A All-Region team by the Texas Association of
Basketball Coaches; and
WHEREAS, The son of Shelby Lewis and Larette King, Xavier
Lewis also participates in Young Life and Fellowship of Christian
Athletes activities; following graduation, he plans to attend
college to study science; and
WHEREAS, The All-South Texas award provides fitting
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to
excellence demonstrated by this exemplary student-athlete, and he
may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Xavier Lewis on being chosen a
member of the first team in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times
All-South Texas basketball awards selections and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Lewis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
