H.R. No. 2361
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Xiao-Shuang Liang has been named co-valedictorian
of the Class of 2015 at Lee High School in Houston along with her
twin sister, Dashuang Liang, and she indeed merits special
recognition for receiving this significant honor; and
WHEREAS, Earning the title of co-valedictorian requires not
only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to
the highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the
two top ranking students in her class, "Emma" Liang demonstrated a
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
of a notable high school career; and
WHEREAS, Passionate about computer science and petroleum
engineering, Ms. Liang tirelessly pursued her goals by taking
Massachusetts Institute of Technology OpenCourseWare and edX
classes; she is a leader among her peers and cofounded Key Club
International, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and
Junior State of America at her school; furthermore, she served as an
inspiration to her fellow students, encouraging them to attend
school and participate in high-level academics such as University
Interscholastic League competitions; and
WHEREAS, During her years at Lee High School, Emma Liang has
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates,
and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th
Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Xiao-Shuang Liang,
co-valedictorian of the Lee High School Class of 2015, and extend to
her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Liang as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
