R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Flatonia FFA floriculture judging team made an
impressive showing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March
7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Flatonia floriculture team
demonstrated their vast knowledge of plant life when they won the
championship title in the 4-H and FFA Floriculture contest,
bringing home the traveling trophy; the contest included tasks such
as identifying 50 different plant specimens and completing a
general knowledge exam consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions;
and
WHEREAS, Team members Raegan Bass, Brianna Louvier,
Mackenzie Cox, and Jade Hernandez each made significant
contributions to the group's success, and Ms. Bass, Ms. Louvier,
and Ms. Cox earned individual honors by placing fourth, fifth, and
eighth, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Through many hours of practice and study, these
exemplary young Texans have achieved great success in competition,
and they are a source of tremendous pride for their families,
school, and community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Flatonia FFA
floriculture team on their outstanding performance at the Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo and extend to them sincere best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
