 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Terri Drefke is celebrating her 25th anniversary as
 chief executive officer of the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley,
 Inc., in 2014, and this occasion presents a fitting opportunity to
 recognize her for her exemplary service; and
 WHEREAS, Since assuming leadership of the Food Bank RGV in
 1989, Ms. Drefke has helped implement a number of worthwhile
 programs, and today the nonprofit is the state's fifth largest food
 bank based on distribution; the organization partners with some 230
 agencies and has distributed over 24 million pounds of food, worth
 an estimated $20 million, this year alone, and it helps to feed more
 than 42,000 residents of Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy Counties
 each week; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to her exceptional efforts in behalf of
 the food bank, Ms. Drefke has given generously of her time and
 talents to numerous civic organizations; she serves as chair of the
 Pharr Cultural Arts Council and as a member of the boards of Faith
 Communities for Disaster Recovery, Catholic Charities, and two
 local emergency food and shelter programs; she is also a member of
 the McAllen South Rotary Club, and she has served as president of
 Feeding Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Drefke is blessed in all of her endeavors with
 the love and support of her husband, Don Drefke, and their two
 children, Heather and Karl; and
 WHEREAS, For the past quarter-century, Terri Drefke has
 demonstrated a steadfast commitment to bettering the lives of Rio
 Grande Valley residents, and her many notable accomplishments have
 made a positive and lasting impact in her community; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Terri Drefke for her 25 years of service
 with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, Inc., and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Drefke as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
