R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carla Cabrera-Gonzalez has been honored with a 2015
scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Association; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people
who have distinguished themselves through their participation in
the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in
January; funded by proceeds raised at the event, the 2015
scholarship awards were presented to 15 area high school seniors
based on a range of criteria, including academic achievement,
college readiness, and membership in an FFA or a 4-H or Family,
Career and Community Leaders of America program; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Bishop FFA, Carla Cabrera-Gonzalez
is graduating from Bishop High School and is looking forward to
pursuing a degree in animal science at Texas Tech University; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride
to her family and community, and the exceptional talent, aptitude,
and drive that she has demonstrated are certain to serve her well in
all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Carla Cabrera-Gonzalez on her
receipt of a 2015 scholarship from the Nueces County Junior
Livestock Show Association and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Cabrera-Gonzalez as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
