R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lile Rodriguez and Manuel G. Rodriguez Jr. have
owned and operated Lile's Flowers in Robstown for 43 years,
becoming respected members of the local business community; and
WHEREAS, The shop was established by the couple in 1972, and
through the years, Lile's Flowers has provided generations of
Robstown residents with floral arrangements and decorating
services; and
WHEREAS, Lile's Flowers is a family business with Mr. and
Mrs. Rodriguez handling the bulk of the work themselves, though
they enjoy additional support from their children during busy
periods; last year, the flower shop moved from its location on Main
Street to a new facility on Western Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Long-standing local businesses play a vital role in
the culture and economy of the Lone Star State, and all those
associated with Lile's Flowers may take great pride in the
contributions that the company has made to the Robstown area over
the past 43 years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lile Rodriguez and Manuel G.
Rodriguez Jr. on operating Lile's Flowers for 43 years and extend to
them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
