R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
cause for celebration, and Ester W. Quan of Bellaire is marking this
memorable milestone on May 24, 2015, in the company of a host of
well-wishers; and
WHEREAS, A source of wisdom and joy, Mrs. Quan has brightened
many lives through the years, and she is deeply cherished by her
friends and relatives; and
WHEREAS, She is the devoted matriarch of a large and
close-knit family, which includes her children and their spouses,
Gordon and Sylvia Quan, Wanda and Gene Choi, Jeanie and Edmond Gor,
Rick Quan, and David and Rachel Quan; she has further been blessed
with eight grandchildren and their spouses, Caroline and Patrick
Long, Jonathan Choi and Elaine Olivares, Kristen and Hunter
Hammill, Katherine Quan, Mathew and Justine Choi, Rachel and Ben
Pun, Mark and Christy Choi, and Nathaniel Quan, and seven
great-grandchildren, Victoria and Katia Long, Dashiell and Harper
Hammill, Haley and Austin Pun, and Gwyneth Choi; and
WHEREAS, Ester Quan is an inspiration to all who have the good
fortune to know her, and her birthday offers a welcome opportunity
to remind her of the special place she holds in the hearts of her
loved ones; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ester W. Quan on the occasion of
her 90th birthday and extend to her warmest best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Quan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
