H.R. No. 3023 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly cause for celebration, and Nina Sinclair of Lubbock is marking that significant milestone on May 24, 2015; and WHEREAS, Born in Roaring Springs in 1925 to John Duff and Myra Kelly Green, the former Nina Lee Green grew up on the Greenland Stock Farm and was baptized at Roaring Springs First Baptist Church in 1936; after graduating from Roaring Springs High School in 1942, she began her career as an artist at Koen's Studio in Lubbock, where she initially hand-colored portraits and later worked as a photographer and designer on the Texas Tech University yearbook; and WHEREAS, She was joined in matrimony to Louis Avery Sinclair on January 18, 1946, and they made their home in Abernathy for 26 years; in 1972, they moved to Lubbock, where Mrs. Sinclair has resided ever since; over the course of more than six decades together, the couple became the parents of three children, David, Terri, and Jerry, and Mrs. Sinclair devoted herself to her roles as wife, mother, and homemaker, supporting her husband in his career and her children in their studies and their many extracurricular activities; she eventually knew the joy of welcoming into her family grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she is affectionately known as "Sugar"; and WHEREAS, Cherished by a host of loved ones and sustained by her strong faith, Nina Sinclair has gracefully reached the 90-year mark and continues to enrich the lives of all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Nina Sinclair on the joyous occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her heartfelt best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Sinclair as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
