R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Paul and Norma Jean Swanson of Waco
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 6, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Paul Swanson and the former Norma Jean Taylor were
united in matrimony at First Lutheran Church in 1954; through the
years, their family has grown to include their children Stephen
Swanson and his wife, Rhonda, and Eric Swanson and his fiancée,
Terri Clark, as well as their grandchildren, Justin Swanson and his
wife, Ashley, and Forrest Swanson; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
Swanson are both retired and are active in the congregation of St.
Matthew Lutheran Church; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Paul and Norma Jean Swanson on
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Swanson as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
