H.R. No. 405
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jerry and Brenda Leighton of Point celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on November 1, 2014, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, On that memorable day in 1964, Mr. and Mrs. Leighton
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Mesquite, and over the course of
their marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Leighton count among their blessings a
fine family that includes their children, Kim and Rob, as well as
their five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with whom
they treasure spending many special occasions; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Jerry and Brenda Leighton have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Brenda Leighton on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
