 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Kyle Kendall retired as owner and operator of
 Stanton Drug Store in February 2015, drawing to a close 44 years of
 outstanding service to West Texans; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Hereford, Mr. Kendall graduated from
 Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1970; he began his career
 at a pharmacy in Odessa, where he worked for a decade before moving
 to Stanton, and he bought Stanton Drug Store in 1983; and
 WHEREAS, Stanton Drug Store has been a treasured community
 institution for more than six decades, and a number of its employees
 have worked at the store for nearly 30 years; in addition to filling
 prescriptions for area residents, the pharmacy has prospered as a
 popular eatery and social gathering place; Mr. Kendall has retained
 the small-town, soda fountain atmosphere as well as a loyal
 customer base, while also overseeing several renovations to the
 store, such as an expanded pharmacy area; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Kendall enjoys the love
 and support of his wife, Brenda, and their children, Kenneth and
 Bonnie; now that he has stepped away from the pharmacy counter,
 Mr. Kendall looks forward to traveling and continuing to be an
 active member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton; and
 WHEREAS, Kyle Kendall's dedication, professionalism, and
 commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of
 Stanton, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent
 as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kyle Kendall on his retirement as
 owner and operator of Stanton Drug Store and extend to him sincere
 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Kendall as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
