R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of
Commerce governmental affairs committee are visiting the State
Capitol on March 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, A nonprofit business association, the Greater
Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce is made up of influential and
diverse individuals dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of
women; and
WHEREAS, In addition to meeting area businesswomen's needs
for advocacy and mentoring, the chamber offers scholarships to
promising students and supports a variety of worthwhile
initiatives, including a regular preventative-health series column
in the Houston Chronicle; and
WHEREAS, The Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce has
become a vital resource for area professional women, and its
efforts are helping to spur economic growth throughout the Bayou
City; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby welcome the governmental affairs committee
members of the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce to the
State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
informative and enjoyable visit to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
