84R6142 JGH-D By: Farney H.R. No. 835 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Andrew W. Killingsworth of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 405 in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Killingsworth has earned 32 merit badges, more than the requisite amount, and he has successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, constructing three bin disposal centers at Gateway College Preparatory School, where he is a senior; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; he has spent 82 days and nights camping at Camp Pirtle, Lost Pines, and Camp Sol Mayer, and he participated in a Philmont backpacking expedition in 2012; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Killingsworth's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Andrew W. Killingsworth on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Killingsworth as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
