 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
 temper the profound sadness felt at the death of Jeff Bass Young of
 Chalk Mountain on March 4, 2014, at the age of 57; and
 WHEREAS, Jeff Young was born in Fort Worth on February 21,
 1957, to Hollis and Carolyn Bass, and he was later adopted by his
 grandparents, J. O. and Mary Jane Young; he graduated as the
 valedictorian of Springtown High School in 1975, earning the
 affectionate nickname "Perch" as the manager of the varsity
 football team; and
 WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Navy nuclear program,
 Mr. Young enjoyed a notable career with the Comanche Peak Nuclear
 Power Plant before retiring; he also worked as a licensed
 vocational nurse in Glen Rose; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman was a devout Christian who
 served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Plainview Baptist
 Church; and
 WHEREAS, Although Jeff Young is deeply missed, cherished
 memories of time spent in his company will long endure in the hearts
 of his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jeff Bass Young and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Dianne Young; to his sisters, Holly Moore and her husband,
 Phillip, Shelly Cagle and her husband, Sam, and Carrie Montgomery
 and her husband, Bobby; to his sister-in-law, LaQuita Johnson; to
 his brothers-in-law, Vic Johnson and Tony Smith and his wife, Joan;
 to his nephews, Andrew and Jay Johnson; to his stepmother, Martha
 Erickson; to his aunt, Jean Henderson; to his special friend, John
 Mohr; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeff Bass
 Young.
