The bill would amend the Government Code to permit a court, justice, judge, magistrate, or clerk to send any notice or document using mail or electronic mail to an email address registered with the state electronic filing system or one provided by the person. The bill would define specific types of mail and communications that could be delivered electronically or that would qualify as "electronic mail." Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
