The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to permit the board of hospital managers of certain hospital districts, with approval of the commissioners court of the county, to lease undeveloped or vacant real property for the development and construction of facilities to generate revenue for financial benefit of the district. The bill would permit the board to directly or through a nonprofit enter into a joint venture with an entity to enter into a lease only after an open meeting in accordance with Chapter 551, Government Code. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
