The bill would allow the Commissioner of Education to issue a subpoena in the course of an educator misconduct investigation. The bill would allow the Commissioner to file suit in a district court to enforce a subpoena if a person failed to comply. Subpoenaed materials could be used in a disciplinary proceeding against an educator based on an alleged incident of misconduct.
