The bill would require a school district to develop a process for a teacher instructing a student with a disability in a regular classroom setting to provide input into the development of the student's individualized education plan (IEP).The bill would require the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee to develop a written report documenting the meeting.The bill would have no direct fiscal implications for the Foundation School Program (FSP) or the operations of the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Local Government Impact A district would be required to develop a process for a teacher instructing a student with a disability in a regular classroom setting to provide input into the students IEP. Districts would also be required to produce a written report of the ARD committee meeting. These costs would vary from district to district depending on the number and frequency of committee meetings.
