                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 8, 2015      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1448 by Ellis (Relating to holding a primary election for a political party in a county without party leadership.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to establish procedure for holding a primary election for a political party in a county without party leadership. The bill puts forth procedures for holding the election. Under the provisions of the bill, a contract entered into under the section would be eligible for reimbursement for primary election expenses. The Secretary of State estimates there would be a cost associated with implementing provisions of the bill. It is anticipated that the cost could be absorbed within existing resources.
