The bill would amend the Election Code to establish procedure for holding a primary election for a political party in a county without party leadership. The bill puts forth procedures for holding the election. Under the provisions of the bill, a contract entered into under the section would be eligible for reimbursement for primary election expenses. The Secretary of State estimates there would be a cost associated with implementing provisions of the bill. It is anticipated that the cost could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
