The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to authorize the Office of the Attorney General to bring legal action against a person who has made certain bad faith claims of patent infringement. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.The Office of the Attorney General estimates there would be a cost associated with implementing the bill provisions. It is assumed there costs could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
