                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 31, 2015      TO: Honorable Kel Seliger, Chair, Senate Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1466 by Watson (Relating to the definition of medical schools for medical residency programs.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill amends the definition of medical schools for the Family Practice Residency Program and Resident Physician Expansion Grant Program to include the medical school at The University of Texas at Austin, the medical school at The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley and the medical education program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. This analysis assumes that any costs for the Higher Education Coordinating Board to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
