                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 5, 2015      TO: Honorable Susan Lewis King, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1532 by Burton (Relating to the appointment of an associate commissioner for veterans services at the Health and Human Services Commission.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require that the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) appoint an associate commissioner for veterans services. Based on the analysis provided by HHSC, the Commission currently has an associate commissioner for veterans services; therefore, the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
