The bill would amend the Government Code to require that the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) appoint an associate commissioner for veterans services. Based on the analysis provided by HHSC, the Commission currently has an associate commissioner for veterans services; therefore, the bill can be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
