                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 13, 2015      TO: Honorable Myra Crownover, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1585 by Lucio (Relating to a study on the feasibility of establishing a prepaid investment plan or other product to help citizens of this state finance and access residential care.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), in cooperation with the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) and the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), to conduct a study on the feasibility of establishing a prepaid investment plan or other product to help citizens finance and access residential care and submit a report by November 1, 2016 containing the findings of the study.  Based on the analysis provided by HHSC, CPA, and DADS, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing state resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
