                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 16, 2015      TO: Honorable Donna Campbell, Chair, Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs & Military Installations      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB2001 by Garcia (Relating to the establishment and operation of the Texas Women Veterans Program.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would establish the Texas Women Veterans Program.  The Texas Veterans Commission anticipates any work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.  The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact There could be costs to a local governmental entity that chose to participate. However, it is assumed that a local governmental entity would participate only if sufficient funds were available or it would not result in a negative fiscal impact; therefore, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
