The bill would amend Chapter 531 of the Government Code to require that the internal audit programs for each health and human services agency be operated as a consolidated internal audit program by the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The bill would also require that the information resources manager for each health and human services agency report directly to the HHSC executive commissioner or designee. HHSC indicates that costs associated with these provisions could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
