                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 27, 2015      TO: Honorable Kevin Eltife, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB374 by Schwertner (Relating to requiring state agencies to participate in the federal electronic verification of employment authorization program, or E-verify.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require certain state agencies to register and participate in the federal electronic verification of employment authorization program (E-Verify program) to verify information of all new employees. The Texas Workforce Commission would be required to adopt rules and prescribe forms to implement the bill. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
