                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 6, 2015      TO: Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB42 by Zaffirini (Relating to the selection process for student members of the board of regents of a state university or state university system.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill amends various sections of the Texas Education Code as it relates to the process by which a governor may appoint a student regent. Based on the analysis of the Office of the Governor and institutions of higher education, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
