The bill would amend Chapter 502 of the Transportation Code, regarding the registration of vehicles. The bill would amend Section 502.146 to add new Subsection (c-1) to exempt from vehicle registration requirements a vehicle owned by a farmers' cooperative society or marketing association, as defined under Chapters 51 and 52 of the Agricultural Code, and used by members of the society or association for a fee.  The bill would also amend Subsections (e) and (h) to allow such a vehicle owned by a farmers' cooperative society or marketing association to be issued a specialty license plate. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend Chapter 502 of the Transportation Code, regarding the registration of vehicles.
