The bill would require each district to provide its cost to obtain property and casualty insurance to the Texas Education Agency. The TEA would be required to make the information gathered available on the agency website and also would be required to compare the property and casualty insurances costs of districts that do not contract for windstorm and hail insurance with the property and casualty insurance costs of distracts that do. Based on the analysis of the Texas Education Agency, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
