                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 21, 2015      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB779 by Huffman (Relating to access to certain medical test results in a criminal proceeding; amending provisions subject to a criminal penalty.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to indicate that certain medical test results would be subject to certain subpoenas in a criminal proceeding, and the court in which the test result is to be disclosed would be required to issue a protective order. The Department of State Health Services and the Office of Court Administration indicate that any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
