The bill would amend Title 2 of the Family Code, which relates to a child in relation to the family, to clarify when the definitions in Chapter 101 apply to Title 2. The bill also states that Chapter 107, which relates to special appointments and social studies applies, with regard to the appointment of an attorney ad litem, guardian ad litem, or an amicus attorney under Title 2. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from the bill. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2015.
