The bill would amend the Penal Code as it relates to the offense of prostitution. Under the provisions of the bill the offense of prostitution is split into two separate offenses depending on whether the party is a buyer or seller. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.The Office of Court Administration reported no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
