                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 29, 2015      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB948 by Taylor, Van (Relating to mediation as an alternative dispute resolution process.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code, regarding responsibilities of mediators in alternative dispute resolution processes. The bill would add provisions requiring notice that legal remedies must be sought in a court of law, and other conditions,  as described. The Office of Court Administration indicates implementing bill provisions is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal implication in the court system. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
