                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 1, 2015      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB982 by Bettencourt (Relating to acceptable forms of identification for voting for certain persons.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to allow a person of a certain age to use certain expired forms of identification to vote. The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
