SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 210 WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Hispanic Republicans is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2015; and WHEREAS, Founded in 2009, the federation is an official auxiliary of the Republican Party of Texas; it has chapters across the state in areas with large Hispanic populations, including Houston, Cameron County, Lubbock, and San Antonio; and WHEREAS, The federation strives to engage Hispanics with a message of inclusion and opportunity within the Republican Party; encouraging participation in civic life, it champions conservative ideals and solutions for the challenges confronting our state and nation, as well as for issues of particular importance to the Hispanic community; and WHEREAS, Today, the federation benefits from the dedicated leadership of executive director Monica Rojas and its board of directors, which includes chair Artemio Muniz Jr., vice chair Marcus Pena, treasurer Adan Tovar, and members David Zapata, Ivan Andarza, Jacob Monty, Ray Villalovas, Adela Garza, and Sally Martinez; Art Martinez de Vara serves as general counsel; and WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Federation of Hispanic Republicans has worked to expand the outreach of the Republican Party, and its efforts are indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Texas Federation of Hispanic Republicans on its fifth anniversary and extend to the organization's members sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for the federation as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
