SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 63 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Frank Brogan, who is retiring February 2, 2015, as managing director of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brogan began his career by serving as an engineering design consultant to the port; after serving in that capacity for 13 years, he joined the port's staff and went on to serve as director of Engineering Services and as deputy port director before being named managing director; and WHEREAS, A highly talented and resourceful gentleman, Mr. Brogan has played an important role in the design of many of the port's facilities, including the 45-foot channel project, the Mary Rhodes Pipeline, and the Joe Fulton Corridor; he also has played a significant role in planning for such projects as the new Harbor Bridge and the La Quinta Terminal; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished 40-year career, he has been noted for his ability to see difficult projects through to completion and for his willingness to mentor others; he has been instrumental in helping to attract more than $32 billion in investment income to the Coastal Bend region; and WHEREAS, An exemplary engineer and administrator, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his leadership at the Port of Corpus Christi Authority will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Frank Brogan on his outstanding service to the Port of Corpus Christi Authority and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
