                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 926
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Carla Brailey, who is graduating from the first
 fellowship class of New Leaders Council--Houston; and
 WHEREAS, New Leaders Council--Houston is a nonprofit,
 nonpartisan organization that is training a new generation of
 progressives to work together in the public and private sectors and
 to take leadership roles in the promotion of a strong democracy,
 social and economic justice, and equal opportunity; and
 WHEREAS, Carla Brailey has devoted substantial time and
 resources to honing her leadership skills; she has learned from
 her peers and from experts, and she has developed a deeper
 understanding of progressive values; and
 WHEREAS, She is an actively engaged member of her
 community, and she has demonstrated a deep commitment to building
 a stronger progressive network in order to craft a better future
 for Texas; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby commend Carla Brailey on her dedication to the
 betterment of her community and state and extend to her
 congratulations and best wishes for much success in the future as a
 Founding Fellow of New Leaders Council--Houston; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
