The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Government Code to require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to adopt procedures and rules, as described in the bill, related to notifications to certain victims of specified offenses. TDCJ indicates it does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact as a result of implementing the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
