                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 29, 2017      TO: Honorable Roland Gutierrez, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1046 by Thierry (Relating to a veterans coordinator for the community justice assistance division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to designate a veteran's coordinator within the Community Justice Assistance Division. TDCJ anticipates any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
