The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to designate a veteran's coordinator within the Community Justice Assistance Division. TDCJ anticipates any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
