The bill would amend the Election Code and the Government Code relating to providing a telephone number for certain governmental purposes. This analysis assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by the Secretary of State using existing resources.The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, or on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
