                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 28, 2017      TO: Honorable Roland Gutierrez, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1117 by Wray (Relating to eligibility for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend eligibility requirements for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program to include students enrolled in undergraduate office commissioning programs such as the United States Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class. Based on the analysis provided by institutions of higher education and the Higher Education Coordinating Board, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
