                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 21, 2017      TO: Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1180 by Goldman (Relating to the scheduling of the last day of school for students by public school districts.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code to establish that school districts may not schedule the last day of school after the Friday preceding Memorial Day, unless the school district operates on a year-round basis.  The bill would apply beginning with the 2018-19 school year.The bill would take effect May 1, 2018.
