Lozano, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1192 by Blanco (Relating to the expansion of the College Credit for Heroes program to lower-division public institutions of higher education offering degrees in certain fields.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the expansion of the College Credit for Heroes program to lower-division public institutions of higher education offering degrees in certain fields.  Based on the LBB's analysis of the Texas Workforce Commission, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Based on information provided by the Higher Education Coordinating Board, Tyler Junior College, Texas State Technical College System Administration, and Texas State University System, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the expansion of the College Credit for Heroes program to lower-division public institutions of higher education offering degrees in certain fields.
